The mandate of Arts visuels de Gatineau (AVG) is to develop arts and culture in the community of Gatineau. To fulfill its mandate, AVG undertakes for purely artistic purposes and without any intention of financial gain for its members to:
- Promote the visual arts and culture in the community of Gatineau, Quebec;
- Organize cultural events such as quality exhibitions to showcase the original works of its members;
- Foster artistic development and appreciation of the arts among people of all ages;
- Actively promote the development of the visual arts in the region;
- Provide an environment that promotes the talent of its artist members;
- Offer workshops, courses, art training to the community;
- Foster partnerships with other artistic and cultural organizations in the region.
