Description
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of caricature: observing the body and face, exaggerating features, and simplifying shapes. Participants will learn to identify a subject's distinctive characteristics. They will produce several quick sketches before creating one or more caricatures. The workshop encourages humor and an artistic perspective. The session concludes with a friendly opportunity to share the drawings.
Level: This course is open to all levels.

Hours: 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The course will be offered in French, but the instructor is bilingual.

Cost for members: $22 (for non-members $27)
The fee for the materials provided to introduction to caricature ($25) is payable to the instructor on the morning of the workshop.
Regarding the instructor: With over 30 years of experience as a painter and editorial illustrator, Luc Alain is a versatile artist. He brings canvases and sketchpads to life through the visual arts in all their forms. Whether working with acrylics, charcoal, pastels, or tools such as black markers and graphite, he captivates and entertains his audience while inviting them to reflect. His work is as varied as it is surprising, exploring the human form to reveal his vision of strength and fragility. He is an active member of several artist associations: BRAVO in Ottawa, La Fab sur Mill in Chelsea, and CACO and AVG in Gatineau.
